Resolved that:

That the Executive Member for Highways, Transport (Operations), Emergency Planning, Newbury Vision approved the recommendations as set out in Section 3 of the report:

That the following are progressed to the statutory advertisement and consultation stage:

1.         Turnpike Road, Thatcham – extension to 30mph speed limit.

2.         Hambridge Road, Mill Lane, Boundary Road (north) and Kings Road – request for a 20mph speed limit agreed in principle but further issues to be investigated and agreed by the task group before it can be advertised.

4.         A340 Aldermaston Village – extension to 30mph speed limit on the A340 to the north and south of the village.

6.         Burghfield Bridge, Burghfield – extension to 30mph speed limit.

That no further action is taken on the following requests with regard to the speed limit, but further measures should be considered where shown below:

3.         Frouds Lane, Aldermaston

5.         Reading Road (north of Welshman’s Crossroads)

7.         Outside The Downs School, Compton – investigate additional signing improvements

8.         Bishops Green Road, Greenham

9.         Mortimer Lane, Mortimer

All the persons requesting the speed limit amendments will be informed of the Executive Member’s decision.

Subject to there being no objections received to the statutory consultation for individual Traffic Regulation Orders for each speed limit, the advertised restrictions will be introduced.

This decision is eligible to be ‘called-in’.  However, if the decision has not been ‘called-in’ by 5.00pm on 06 August, then it will be implemented.
