Proposed pedestrian crossing on Reading Road, Burghfield pdf icon PDF 86 KB

Councillor Pamela Bale

Decision:

Individual Decision No:

ID2795

Portfolio Member:

Councillor Pamela Bale, Portfolio Holder for Highways, Transport (Operations), Emergency Planning, Newbury Vision

Resolved that:

·              Given the responses to the public consultation and the number of signatures on the petition, it is recommended that a formal crossing facility is not introduced on the Reading Road at The Forge Garage.

·              Given the results of the pedestrian survey and that there is a safe crossing point approximately 100 metres away, it is recommended that a formal crossing facility is not introduced at present on Reading Road south west of its junction with Holmdene.

·              In terms of the area between Holmdene and the roundabout, based on current information a crossing in this location cannot be justified, however if the play area on Auclum Green is developed then the situation will be reviewed.

·              The petition organiser be informed of the decision.

This decision is eligible to be ‘called-in’.  However, if the decision has not been ‘called-in’ by 5.00pm on 7 August 2014, then it will be implemented.
