Membership update Hindu Community – Keith Harvey Jewish Community – Jo Fageant To discuss the possibility of a volunteer teacher from Little Heath School to be a co-opted member of SACRE who could be the conduit between SACRE and the secondary RE teachers network. Minutes: The SACRE is currently short of Group A involvement (no one present at current meeting and therefore meeting officially not quorate). Sadly, BA has resigned her position on the SACRE. The SACRE noted its thanks to her for her work. The Muslim community is looking for another representative. The Catholic Church is currently looking for a representative. KH will continue to investigate the Hindu community to attempt to find a representative. JF will contact the synagogue again to attempt to find a replacement for ZS. It was agreed that a secondary teacher from Little Heath would be able to join the SACRE as a union representative. |

Progress with Hub Initiative - Jan Lever PDF 840 KB Additional documents:
Minutes: AH presented the Westhill Application for the hub and this was agreed by the SACRE. There will be a joint SACREs conference on 28th September 2016 from 6-9pm at the Holiday Inn, Wokingham. Each SACRE needs to commit to sending four people at a cost of £30 per person. West Berkshire SACRE agreed to do this and currently MH and KH will be able to attend. The conference will include information on British values, the role of the SACRE, a national update, more information on the Crossing the Bridges project and a presentation on understanding Christianity. MH reported that the hub initiative is progressing well. Chairs/advisers meetings are currently being held in the 1st half of each term, with SACRE meetings being held in the second half. Next year, thoughts will turn towards the new syllabus, which needs to be in place by 2018. Jan Lever will put together an action plan in the Autumn term for action by the joint SACREs. |

Jo Fageant - Ongoing Support Minutes: JF has stated that she would like to resign from her SACRE role in April 2017. The SACRE discussed possible options and the proposal was for AH to be the new advisor from this date. This would include support for the primary R.E. networks. This was agreed by all. |
