Resolved that:
On implementation of a revised policy, to propose an extension from the current 12 months to 24 months in the following instances;
· To allow for the sale of property following a grant of probate or letters of administration following the death of the liable person; and
· To allow the sale of a property where an age restriction has been placed on the buyers.
No extension to be given to properties undergoing refurbishments work or properties that could be considered as uninhabitable due to significant repair works or structural alterations.
No extension to be given to temporarily unoccupied properties (holiday or second homes) from the 1st April 2025.
This decision is eligible to be ‘called-in’. However, if the decision has not been ‘called-in’ by 5.00pm on 1 August 2024, then it will be implemented.
