Minutes:

It was noted that the remaining item related to an annual report and an ongoing piece of work. The vaping report was included on this agenda and the Service was regularly posting information about under age sales activity on its social media platforms and providing information on its web pages.

Any Member with a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest in a matter should withdraw from the meeting when the matter is under consideration, and should notify the Democratic Services Officer in attendance that they are withdrawing as they have such an interest. If the Disclosable Pecuniary Interest is not entered on the register of Members’ Interests, the Monitoring Officer must be notified of the interest within 28 days.

RESOLVED that:

·       The Committee were informed of the outcome of the review.

·       A report would be brought back to the June 2025 meeting setting out a response to the recommendations and proposals in respect of recommissioning the service by the partner authorities.

RESOLVED that:

·       The Committee were informed about the work being conducted by the Public Protection Service with respect to the regulation of tobacco and vaping products.  

·       The Committee were informed about the implications of the new legislation (Tobacco and Vapes Bill) proposed and duties on the shared service Councils. 

·       The Committee will receive an update report on implementation and delivery at its meeting in December 2025.
