It was noted that the remaining item related to an annual report and an ongoing piece of work. The vaping report was included on this agenda and the Service was regularly posting information about under age sales activity on its social media platforms and providing information on its web pages.

Any Member with a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest in a matter should withdraw from the meeting when the matter is under consideration, and should notify the Democratic Services Officer in attendance that they are withdrawing as they have such an interest. If the Disclosable Pecuniary Interest is not entered on the register of Members’ Interests, the Monitoring Officer must be notified of the interest within 28 days.

Members were informed that the Quarter Four performance report, to be considered at the June meeting, would include a discussion on key performance indicators for the forthcoming year.

RESOLVED that:

·       The Committee were informed of the outcome of the review.

·       A report would be brought back to the June 2025 meeting setting out a response to the recommendations and proposals in respect of recommissioning the service by the partner authorities.

To inform the Committee of the performance of the Public Protection Partnership in line with the operating model and business plan, and provide an update setting out performance during the third quarter of 2024/25.

·       The 2024/25 Q3 data for the Public Protection Service.

·       The update on service delivery.

To set out to the Committee the current work conducted by the Public Protection Service in relation to the regulation of tobacco and vaping products and to advise the Committee on the implications of the Tobacco and Vaping Bill currently progressing through Parliament.

·       The Committee were informed about the work being conducted by the Public Protection Service with respect to the regulation of tobacco and vaping products.  

·       The Committee were informed about the implications of the new legislation (Tobacco and Vapes Bill) proposed and duties on the shared service Councils. 

·       The Committee will receive an update report on implementation and delivery at its meeting in December 2025.
