Donnington Link: Planned Footpath

We, the undersigned, petition the Council to We, the undersigned, petition West Berkshire Council to investigate whether the Donnington Heights development has been delivered in accordance with planning permissions 14/02480/OUTMAJ, 19/00442/OUTMAJ and 18/03061/RESMAJ, and to take any necessary enforcement action to require David Wilson Homes to provide the promised pedestrian footpath linking the estate to the village of Donnington.

During the planning phase, David Wilson Homes led residents to expect that Donnington Heights would include a pedestrian footpath connecting the estate to Donnington village. That footpath has not been delivered. This connection is important for safe access to local services, community facilities and everyday walking routes, and would benefit both the existing communities of Oxford Road and Donnington and the residents of the new estate by strengthening access, inclusion and community connection. We ask the Council to investigate whether the development complies with the approved planning permissions and to take any necessary enforcement action to secure delivery of this pedestrian link.
