Support for the Proposed Speed-Limit Changes for Hampstead Norreys

West Berkshire Council has stated publicly that future 20mph schemes will only be progressed where there is clear and significant support from local residents. The Council has also confirmed that schemes will be taken forward when strong community backing is demonstrated by local residents, community groups, and town and parish councils.
A draft scheme for revised speed limits in Hampstead Norreys was prepared by a consultant acting on behalf of West Berkshire Council. The proposal includes a range of changes to existing limits, including new 20mph areas within the village, reductions from 40mph to 30mph, reductions from the national speed limit to 30mph, and reductions from the national speed limit to 40mph. The parish council has reviewed the scheme and considers it to be appropriate for the village.
In line with West Berkshire Council’s stated approach, this petition is submitted to demonstrate that residents support the implementation of the proposed speed-limit scheme for Hampstead Norreys.
